Franklin Regional Council of Governments &WesternMass Connect
Developed a 4-county regional plan to apply for federal stimulus funds to support community-oriented broadband-based activities. Worked with regional government and multiple community organizations.
WesternMA Connect hired Michael to help write federal  application for the expansion of broadband in western Massa
chusetts.  This was a huge effort in a very short timeframe.  The process required soliciting, gathering, assessing, and compiling project ideas from organizations and individuals across western Massachusetts.  It required understanding the detailed, complex, and, at times, seemingly contradictory  grant application instructions.  It required communication and facilitation skills though a sensitive and difficult process and working to bring consensus to groups that had a fractured history.  All of this had to be accomplished in 3 weeks.  Michael was outstanding.  He accomplished all of this with leadership and good humor.  It was a pleasure to work with him through an extremely difficult and stressful process.

His ability to communicate clearly, his dependability, and his passion for community-building were keys to the project’s success.

Network Health

Medford, MA
Developed a strategic plan for strengthening partnerships with community-based organizations and field-based personnel serving low-moderate income residents.
Michael’s depth of experience in outreach and the Massachusetts health care community coupled with his ability to closely partner with our team at Network Health, allowed us to develop a strong plan for reaching the community-based organizations in our target. The plan took into consideration the need to connect with specific field-based personnel who directly assisted our members and potential members and the best channels through which to reach them. The result was an integrated plan that allowed us to extend our ability to reach the community through stronger partnerships. –
